Up until September, Jon Hamm wasn't an Emmy winner, but that doesn't mean he didn't know how to celebrate a nomination.

While on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Monday, the Mad Men actor reminisced about his 2013 post-awards show bash specifically for Emmys losers, co-hosted with Amy Poehler (see the original invite here).

"We decided we would test the fates, and we decided one evening, randomly, to have a losers party," Hamm said of the year's "Losers Lounge" bash, held at the SoHo House in West Hollywood. "We hadn’t lost yet. We were nominated, but we were so certain we were going to lose."

That night, The Hollywood Reporter noted that unsuccessful nominees Jimmy Kimmel, Elisabeth Moss, David Spade, Fred Armisen and January Jones attended the after-party. "There’s more losers than winners," Hamm explained to Seth Meyers. "They should get a party too."

Though Tina Fey and Ty Burrell had won, they were allowed in after only if they made a donation to the Worldwide Orphans fund -- the charity of Hamm and Poehler's choosing. The evening raised almost $20,000.

However, no winner could bring Emmy gold through the door. Laughed Hamm, "Don’t even bring it -- we don’t want to see it!"
