Selena Gomez does not “fear” a “hookup” between Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, despite a ridiculous new report. Gossip Cop can debunk the nonsense.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, “Ariana Grande has been in talks to join Justin Bieber for several shows on his Believe tour. It seems everyone is excited except for Selena Gomez, who reportedly fears a Justin and Ariana hook up if the two pop stars end up performing together.”

Not content to say the false claims just once, the site repeats, “With reports that Justin Bieber is planning to team up with Ariana Grande as a special guest on certain dates of his Believe tour, Selena Gomez really has a good reason to worry. Ariana and Justin were already in the studio together but both singers are much more single now.”

Apparently CDL is unaware that Bieber’s “Believe” tour took place in 2012-2013. With no concern for accuracy, the webloid goes on to write that Gomez is “seething with jealousy” over Grande’s inclusion on Bieber’s upcoming album. “Of course, Selena wants close to anything that Bieber is involved in,” says the site. “Selena also would like to have some guest spots on Justin Bieber’s tour but she knows that won’t be happening.”

Apparently CDL is also unaware that Gomez is embarking on her own world tour. And yet the outlet writes, “That’s probably why Gomez is so upset about news that Ariana Grande is signing on. Selena doesn’t want a single Ariana Grande spending too much time hanging with Justin Bieber.” The webloid concludes, “Don’t be surprised if Selena Gomez goes out of her way to get by Justin Bieber’s side. Gomez wants to get close before Ariana Grande can get her hands on him.”

Gossip Cop wants to point something out. Notice how CDL repeatedly refers to Gomez, Bieber and Grande by their full names? It’s one of the site’s attempts to game Google and skew search results. Another way the site tries to manipulate the search giant is by making up false stories such as this one. Google rewards original content, sending over traffic regardless of accuracy.

Sadly, this seems to be the business model of several webloids Gossip Cop repeatedly busts. Because, what’s more original than a totally fabricated story that search engines have never seen before, and will only be seen again after other sites carelessly pick it up? But the most important point is this: This story, and many others like it, is NOT accurate.

While Bieber and Grande’s touring future is up in the air, Gomez is not the least bit concerned about them possibly teaming up. Just like they are, Gomez is focused on her own career, not “fearing” a “hookup” between two stars who have proven to have a more brother-sister relationship than anything else. It’s also worth noting that, as Gossip Cop reported, Grande and Gomez recently expressed support for each other on Twitter. Too bad Celeb Dirty Laundry can’t be as supportive.
