Tony Bennett performed “America The Beautiful” at game five of the 2015 World Series on Sunday. Watch below!

All eyes were on Bennett at Citi Field, where the New York Mets are taking on the Kansas City Royals. The series began earlier this week, and the Royals are now just one game away from winning the World Series, with a lead of three games to one. The Mets scored their only win on Friday, following a “Star-Spangled Banner” performance from Billy Joel. Despite Demi Lovato’s uplifting National Anthem before game four, the Mets watched a lead slip late in the game to lose to the Royals. Could Bennett be a good luck charm for the struggling Mets?

Tony Bennett is a New York native, so his choice fired up the crowd before this must-win game. The 89-year-old singer is also a longtime fan of the Mets, and even appeared in a 1986 documentary about the team called, “Let’s Go Mets.” He was backed by 12 singers from the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, a school he founded with his wife in Queens, New York.

Though a singing legend, Bennett has never been a fan of the “Star-Spangled Banner” and has actually opted before to sing “America The Beautiful.” He performed it before game one of the World Series in 1998 when the New York Yankee took on the San Diego Padres.
