The World Series moved to New York on Friday night — and with that, a first win for the Mets.
On Fox, the game scored a preliminary 3.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 12.5 million viewers in primetime. That number, which will see some time zone adjustments, will still easily give the network a victory for the night against increased competition.
20/20 rolled out its Leah Remini sitdown, a belated Scientology exit interview, and it saw the veteran ABC News show jump to its best showing since Diane Sawyer's interview with Caitlyn Jenner. Week to week, it was up half of a point in the key demo to 1.7 rating in the key demo and 8.2 million viewers. That made it the highest-rated non-sports telecast of the night. It followed steady episodes of Last Man Standing and Dr. Ken (1.2 adults) and Shark Tank (1.4 adults).
Over on CBS, the trio of The Amazing Race (1.2 adults), Hawaii Five-0 (1.1 adults) and Blue Bloods (1.1 adults) were steady as ever. And, speaking of CBS, Supergirl has gotten its first dose of DVR viewing. The drama rose 24 percent in total viewers, hitting 16.1 million, and 32 percent in the key demo to a 4.1 rating. That now puts it behind Blindspot as the biggest freshman debut of the season.
Undateable and Truth Be Told each averaged a 0.7 rating on NBC. That was ahead of the return of Grimm. With a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49, the drama was off three-tenths of a point from last year's premiere.
