Leah Remini says she told Tom Cruise to “get a freakin’ room” when he once allegedly was “forcibly kissing” then-girfriend Katie Holmes at his home and, as a result, got in trouble with the Church of Scientology. Remini made that claim and more during an interview with “20/20,” airing on Friday. Watch the video below.
As Gossip Cop reported, in a clip that was released earlier, Remini said Cruise holds such a high standing within the church that “Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself. You are evil.” Remini, of course, is now promoting her new book, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology, due out on November 3.
In the newest preview clip, Remini first talks about how when meeting Cruise, “At first it’s very effusive, it’s very loving. You get the laser in on you, and you’re the most important thing that ever happened.” But that changed when she made a crack about him and Holmes when two officials asked her to come to the superstar’s home and teach him how to dance the salsa.
According to Remini, when she got to his home, Cruise was “forcibly kissing Katie,” prompting her to remark, “Get a freakin’ room.” That comment, she alleges, resulted in her being “written up” in what Scientology calls a “Knowledge Report,” which she says is a way to tell on one another and self-regualte the religion.
In response to Remini’s interview with “20/20,” the Church of Scientology claims the actress was actually kicked out of the religion for “ethical lapses,” and begged to stay. The church further states that Remini’s interview with the primetime news program grows out of her “insatiable desire for attention,” and that she’s now “shamelessly exploit her former religion in a pathetic attempt to get publicity.”
Check out the video below of Remini talking again about Tom Cruise and the Church of Scientology, and tell Gossip Cop what you think.
