Sarah Silverman says she regrets once wearing the “most racist blackface.” Watch below.

The comedienne made the confession on Thursday’s “Watch What Happens Live,” during which a caller asked her, “What is the most regrettable joke you’ve ever delivered?” Silverman initially seemed a little taken aback by the question. “No,” she responded, “in that I like looking back at stuff I did 10 years ago and cringing. That means I’m growing and changing.”

But Silverman went on to say she does have one major regret, noting, “I had an episode on ‘The Sarah Silverman Program’ that I love called ‘Face Wars.'” She explained that in the scene in question, she and a waiter disagree on whether it’s “harder” to be black or Jewish, and decide to switch for the day. “It’s really aggressively stupid and we’re both idiots,” she insisted.

Silverman recalled, “I’m in the most racist blackace, and he’s wearing like peyos and a yarmulke, and a big fake Jewish nose, and he’s wearing a t-shirt that says ‘I love money.’ And it’s great, but there’s a still [photo] of me on Twitter in blackface and it’s totally out of context.”

“I tweeted it when Twitter was new and the people that followed me watched my show,” she continued. “And now it’s just forever there. It’s totally racist out of comment, out of context, and I regret that.”

Silverman’s admission comes just a few days after Kanye West and Nicki Minaj blackface Halloween costumes sparked controversy. Check out the video below, and tell us what you think.
