Jack Osbourne believes former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle, who recently pleaded guilty to sexually abusing underage boys and girls, should receive the ultimate punishment for his crimes: death.
Osbourne, the TV personality and father of two, tweeted on Thursday night, “Thought for the day… #jaredfogle should be put to death. just sayin’.” The comment came after audio was obtained allegedly featuring Fogle describing the sex acts he engaged in with minors. The federal court, however, isn’t pursuing a sentence quite as severe as capital punishment. As part of his plea deal, Fogle is expected to be sentenced to a minimum of five years in prison, while prosecutors have agreed not to request any more than 12 and a half years.
The U.S. District Court Judge overseeing the case, however, could also make the decision to throw out Fogle’s plea deal and sentence him to up to 50 years behind bars. Many people have been calling on the judge to do so, as his current plea bargain is widely considered to be a light punishment in relation to the crimes he committed.
As Gossip Cop has also noted, Fogle recently paid $1 million in restitution to 10 of his 14 victims, compensating each one with $100,000. The remaining four victims will receive their checks before the disgraced Subway spokesman’s sentencing on November 19.
