Grandfathered is showing no signs of slowing down.

Fox has ordered another nine episodes of the John Stamos family comedy, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Grandfathered was been a modest performer, averaging a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 in live-plus-seven-day numbers. The half-hour entry has helped Fox jump 70 percent in the Tuesday at 8 p.m. hour versus a year ago, when Utopia aired in that spot.

The full-season pickup comes a day after Fox extended its commitment to its other male-led freshman comedy, The Grinder, which airs after Grandfathered on Tuesdays. Sources say the delay was a stacking rights debate between ABC Studios, who produced the comedy, and 20th TV, who boarded the series as a co-producer after it was picked up to series.

Grandfathered had the Herculean task of self-starting on what is an incredibly competitive Tuesday night, and the series has proven itself up to the challenge,” said Fox Broadcasting Company entertainment president David Madden. “Since the very beginning we knew this show would be that rare commodity — a genuinely original family comedy. The remarkable John Stamos, Josh Peck, Paget Brewster, and the entire cast have sparkling chemistry, and the show’s creative team has delivered fantastic scripts that keep these great characters moving. We know fans are going to love the surprises in store for the rest of the season.”

In addition to The Grinder, Grandfathered joins fellow Fox rookie Rosewood in getting a full-season order. On the other Big Four networks, NBC's Blindspot, ABC's Quantico and Dr. Ken and CBS' Limitless and Life in Pieces have been picked up.
