Brad Pitt is not hosting an upcoming “Saturday Night Live,” despite a new report. Gossip Cop can debunk the claim, which was made in one of this week’s tabloids. We’re told by a ‘SNL’ production insider that it’s “not true.”

According to OK!, “After 20 years of turning down one of showbiz’s most enviable gigs, Brad Pitt, 51, has said yes to hosting ‘Saturday Night Live,’ and nothing is off-limits.” The woefully ill-informed tabloid then quotes a so-called “source” as saying, “He’s finally ready for the writers and cast to let loose and make as many jokes as they want” about him, his six kids, and his relationship with Angelina Jolie.

The magazine claims the date of Pitt’s “SNL” appearance “hasn’t been set,” but he’s given his word to his older sons Maddox and Pax, who are fans of the show and allegedly think it would be “supercool” of their dad to host. The tabloid ends it piece with its supposed “insider” noting that Pitt’s boys “couldn’t believe it when he told them he’d turned it down, and they practically begged him to agree this year. There’s no backing out now.”

Gossip Cop wishes there was “no backing out” either for OK!, but we’re sure the tabloid will find an excuse for why Pitt didn’t host and it was wrong. Bottom line: An impeccable “SNL” production source exclusively tells Gossip Cop it’s “not true” that Pitt is hosting the sketch comedy show.
