Game 1 climbs 31 percent from 2014, with Fox easily winning Tuesday night.

The first game of the 2015 World Series may have been interrupted by a power outage, but that didn't keep viewers away. The Fox telecast climbed a bold 31 percent from last year's Game 1, easily giving the network a win for the night.

The Mets-Royals' 14-inning game averaged an overnight rating of 10.5 among metered market households, making it the best start to the World Series since the Phillies and the Yankees in 2009. Early figures have Fox on track to have both the biggest audience in primetime and the strongest showing among adults 18-49.

Kansas City, which won the game, brought the biggest market rating — a staggering 57.3. That;'s the highest single-market rating for any Game 1 in at least 20 years. New York trailed with a 26.2 rating.
