Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert will have their first public reunion at next week’s CMAs, and he knows it’s going to be “awkward.” Check out the video below.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Shelton and Lambert divorced in July. They’ve both maintained the split is amicable, but no doubt everyone will be reading into their every move at the awards show. In fact, Shelton says he even welcomes host Brad Paisely joking about the situation.
On Tuesday’s “Late Night,” host Seth Meyers was actually the first to bring it up, noting the camaraderie between CMAs attendees and how they feel comfortable making jokes at each other’s expense. Shelton responded, “This year’s gonna be awkward at the CMAs.”
“There’s gotta be a [joke] about me and Miranda,” he went on. “Brad Paisley is not doing his job if he doesn’t look down there and go, ‘Haha!’ He’s gotta do it! You have to address the elephant in the room.” Shelton even admitted, “We’ve had the conversations like ‘Okay, dude, I will go sit there and let you kick me in the face a few times.'”
“I know it’s coming,” he added. In addition to Lambert and Paisely, Shelton also spoke about Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and Rihanna in his interview. Watch all the videos below!
