A supposed “assistant” of Lamar Odom was reportedly kicked out of his hospital on Monday and banned from visiting.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Odom is still getting treatment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, one week after he was transferred from Las Vegas and two weeks after he was found unresponsive at a brothel. Though he has regained consciousness, doctors are still assessing brain damage and are unsure how much his cognitive abilities will recover. He recently underwent surgery on his chest, and his kidneys continue to fail.
With his health still in such a precarious state, visitors to Odom’s hospital room have been severely limited, with security standing guard 24/7 to prevent privacy intrusions. But that apparently didn’t stop one guy from trying. According to TMZ, the unnamed “friend” showed up late Monday night, claiming to be Odom’s assistant and alleging that his presence was requested by the patient himself.
He was reportedly stopped by security when he arrived at Odom’s hospital floor, and tried to claim Odom had asked him to come from Las Vegas. The guards, however, were seemingly aware of his identity, and knew not to let him in. TMZ says a “big scene” ensued, complete with screaming, before he was escorted out of the building.
The site claims the guy had actually been fired by Odom’s camp when he was first hospitalized, though it’s unclear how long they had been working together and in what capacity. TMZ reports the pair had actually lived together in Las Vegas, and that many in the former NBA player’s circle blamed the unidentified man for allegedly contributing to Odom’s drug use.
TMZ adds that Khloe Kardashian was not at the hospital during the incident. As Gossip Cop has reported, she has slowly begun resuming her normal life, though has pledged to still be at her husband’s bedside as much as possible. There are still conflicting reports as to how much Odom can communicate, with some saying he can follow simple commands, while others say he cannot form sentences.
