Maureen O’Hara died in her sleep, it was announced on Saturday, and now Hollywood stars are paying tribute to the screen legend. She was 95.

Perhaps best known for working with John Ford and John Wayne, O’Hara appeared in some cinematic classics, such as The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, The Parent Trap, and Miracle On 34th Street. She received an honorary Oscar last November, presented to her by Liam Neeson and Clint Eastwood. Over the course of her career, O’Hara earned the admiration of many celebrities.

Jessica Chastain shared the photo above right from the Governor Awards, where O’Hara was honored less than a year ago. Chastain wrote on Twitter, “RIP #MaureenOHara from one tough redhead broad to another. Thankful for the light you shared.”

Fellow Ireland native Roma Downey tweeted, “Just heard that legendary Irish Actress Maureen O Hara passed away R.I.P She was a gift to the world and a great Ambassador for Ireland. What an inspiration this great spirited Irish actress was to me. God speed Maureen O Hara R.I.P #maureenohara.”

“RIP Maureen O’Hara 1920 – 2015 What a beauty. What a broad,” remarked John Nolte. He went on to say, “Proof of God: Maureen O’Hara and Technicolor.” Patty Duke simply wrote, “RIP Maureen O’Hara, what a national treasure.” And the official Twitter account for the late John Wayne posted, “We are deeply saddened to hear the passing of Hollywood icon and Irish legend – Maureen O’Hara.”
