Lamar Odom reportedly suffered 12 strokes following his hospitalization last week.
As Gossip Cop has reported, the former NBA star was found unresponsive in a Nevada brothel more than a week ago after a suspected overdose. After he was rushed to the hospital, it was reported he then suffered multiple strokes as doctors tried to stabilize his condition. Now TMZ is reporting that the series of strokes totaled a dozen.
Since Odom regained consciousness late last week, there have been conflicting reports about his ability to speak and move. Despite claims that he was communicating easily, there were indications that he was actually suffering from cognitive issues. And now TMZ is essentially confirming that, noting that his motor skills were impaired by the strokes, impacting “his ability to walk and talk.”
Unfortunately, it still remains unclear how much Odom will recover. While he will have physical therapy, it’s too early to know what his long-term prognosis will be. He is also still dealing with other immediate issues, such as his ongoing kidney failure.
Odom also had surgery on his chest earlier this week, as Gossip Cop reported at the time. Khloe Kardashian, who broke her silence earlier in the week, has not commented on her husband’s condition since then. Gossip Cop will continue to have updates.
