The ABC drama was neck-and-neck with the night's demo scripted demo leader, 'Scandal.'

Slightly improved from last week's outing, Thursday Night Football topped the evening with a preliminary 3.7 rating among adults 18-49 on CBS and the NFL Network. That's up a hair from last week's early score, which rose to a 4.9 rating in the demo in the finals.

Keeping with the theme of the week, there was little other movement on the broadcast dial. Grey's Anatomy, steady and slightly improved from last week's performance, nabbed a post-premiere best of a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49. That's just a hair shy of the night's demo leader, ABC neighbor Scandal, which was also steady with a 2.5 rating in the key demo. How to Get Away With Murder capped off ABC's No. 2-ranked night with an even 2.0 rating.

Heroes Reborn (1.1 adults), The Blacklist (1.4 adults) and The Player (0.8 adults) were all steady on NBC — as Bones (1.2 adults) and Sleepy Hollow (0.8 adults) were on Fox. The Vampire Diaries (0.5 adults) and The Originals (0.4 adults) were steady, tying series lows on the CW.
