Neil Patrick Harris, who hosted the 2015 Oscars, is happy to pass on the baton to Chris Rock, who was announced Wednesday as the host of the 2016 Academy Awards.

As Gossip Cop reported, next year’s telecast will mark Rock’s second time hosting the awards show, following his 2005 stint. Rock said in a statement, “I’m so glad to be hosting the Oscars. It’s great to be back.” Shortly after that, Harris congratulated the comedian for scoring the gig. “Chris Rock is hosting the #Oscars. Brilliant choice. He’ll be awesome,” tweeted Harris.

Other celebrities were also excited about Rock returning to host the show next year. James Woods tweeted that the news was something “EVERYBODY should be happy about,” and called Rock, “The best comedy talent on earth.” Sherri Shepherd wrote, “Second time is a charm! Congrats @ChrisRock on hosting the 2016 Oscars!”

Arsenio Hall posted a photo of himself with the upcoming Academy Awards host, along with the caption, “Your OSCAR host @chrisrock #bravo.” And three-time Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais joked, “Let me know if you run out of offensive material. I have loads left over.”

The 88th Annual Oscars will air live on ABC on February 28, 2016. Tell Gossip Cop what you think about the outgoing host congratulating the incoming host on his new gig.
