Presidential candidate Martin O’Malley courted the Taylor Swift vote when he broke into “Bad Blood” on “The View” on Tuesday. Watch below!

O’Malley is the former governor of Maryland and a former Baltimore mayor. Last week he participated in the first Democratic debate of the 2016 election season with Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and other contenders. By most accounts, he doesn’t have much of a chance of scoring the nomination, but that isn’t stopping him from campaigning.

“The View” co-host Michelle Collins, however, couldn’t help but suggest an alternate career for O’Malley, based on his handsome looks. “I would love to see you act,” she exclaimed. That led fellow panelist Paula Faris to bring up the politician’s guitar skills and his old high school band.

And wouldn’t you know they had a guitar sitting right there on stage for O’Malley to use? Completely game, the presidential hopeful took off his suit jacket, strapped on the instrument, and began playing “Bad Blood.” He explained, “Katy Perry I’m told is doing like a benefit concert for one of my opponents [Clinton] in Iowa, so in response, I thought I’d offer this up for Taylor Swift.”

Martin, of course, was referring to the speculation that Swift wrote the hit song about her fellow pop star and supposed rival. It remains to be seen if Swift will show any support for the move. In addition to Perry, Clinton also has Lady Gaga and Beyonce in her corner, as Gossip Cop has reported. Check out the video below, and tell us what you think!
