Anthony Mackie Backs Off Donald Trump Endorsement

Not so fast, Donald Trump.

Anthony Mackie is rolling back his reported support of the Republican presidential hopeful.

The actor, who plays Falcon in Marvel's "The Avengers" franchise, took to Twitter to backpedal on comments he made to BET, where he said he's on the Trump "bandwagon."

"Sorry Donald, that wasn’t an endorsement. Just a bad attempt at a joke, I guess?" he Tweeted on Monday.

In a BET interview posted on Monday, Anthony – who will soon be seen in "Our Brand is Crisis" with Sandra Bullock – told the network, "I would 100 percent want to run Trump's campaign. 100 percent."

"I mean, first that'll be the best party ever when he won, and second, Trump's an easy sell... When you look at Trump, he's an easy sell because you can sell him as the guy who worked his way up from nothing," he continued. "And I think if you're a 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps' candidate, people would identify with that."

When asked if he was backing Trump for President, the actor replied, "I'm on the bandwagon. I'm drinking the Kool-Aid."
