Donald Trump is offering Arnold Schwarzenegger congratulations on his “Celebrity Apprentice” gig.

As Gossip Cop reported, NBC announced on Monday that the boardroom competition series will continue with Schwarzenegger as its host. Trump stepped down from the reality show after he announced his candidacy for president earlier this year, and then the network cut ties with him over some of his inflammatory remarks about Mexican immigrants. Thankfully, it seems Trump agrees with NBC’s replacement choice.

“Congrats to my friend @Schwarzenegger who is doing next season’s Celebrity Apprentice. He’ll be great & will raise lots of $ for charity,” Trump tweeted after the news was revealed. He went on to write, “To all my fans, sorry I couldn’t do The Apprentice any longer — but equal time (presidential run) prohibits me from doing so. Love!”

Schwarzenegger hasn’t responded to Trump’s congrats, but did take to Twitter to acknowledge the positive reception to his casting. “Wow. I’m blown away and honored by all your tweets. I can’t wait to bring my experience to the board room & raise millions for charity,” he tweeted. Trump retweeted the post.

In its release, NBC touted that Trump had “helped raise more than $15 million for charity” during the seven seasons of “Celebrity Apprentice.” Executive producer Mark Burnett also noted, “After leaving the show to run for political office, Donald made it clear that he wanted ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ to be able to continue to raise millions of dollars annually for worthy causes, and now NBC and I have found an amazing new leader to do just that.”

“Gov. Schwarzenegger will use his vast and highly successful business, political and media experience to drive this hit franchise to new heights,” continued Burnett. It’s believed the production will now move from New York to California. Before Schwarzenegger really starts taking over Trump’s job, he’s expected to watch his predecessor in the spotlight at Wednesday’s GOP debate.
