Mel Gibson and his girlfriend Rosalind Ross are not expecting a baby, despite a couple of inaccurate reports. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the claim, which began in an Australian magazine and got picked up by some webloids. We’re told it’s “untrue.”

In one of those accounts, RadarOnline reports that Gibson is going to become a dad for the ninth time. The webloid say Gibson is “expecting a baby with Rosalind,” who he’s been dating time since July. The site then quotes a supposed “insider” who told New Idea magazine that Ross, an equestrian champion and budding screenwriting, seems to have “a bun in the oven.”

The alleged “insider” says, “Rosey suddenly gave up drinking about a month ago and while she won’t admit she’s pregnant, she’s not denying it either.” The so-called “source” adds the 24-year-old Ross, who’s with Gibson in Australia while he directs Hacksaw Ridge, has “always said that she wanted to be a young mom, and have three or four children.”

That’s nice, but it’s entirely false. And RadarOnline would not have gone down the same foxhole with New Idea had it taken a moment to fact-check the story. Anyway, Gossip Cop looked into it, and Gibson’s rep exclusively tells us the claim that he’s having a baby with Ross is “100 percent untrue.”

For the time being, eight is enough for Gibson, who has seven children with his ex-wife Robyn and one kid with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
