The Perfect Guy is wooing moviegoers this weekend, and is expected to be number one at the box office.
The movie stars Sanaa Lathan as a woman who dumps her commitment-phobic boyfriend (Morris Chestnut) and begins dating the “perfect guy,” played by Michael Ealy. Of course, he’s anything but “perfect,” and is actually more like a psychopath. The romantic thriller is attracting both men and women alike for a predicted opening of $25.4 million.
Another new movie, the M. Night Shyamalan thriller The Visit, is likely to debut in second. The movie is on track to scare up ticket sales of $21.6 million. Last week’s unexpected chart-topper, the little-known Christian film War Room, is slipping into third place with a projected $7.4 million.
A Walk In The Woods, starring Robert Redford, is eyeing the number four spot with $4.9 million. Straight Outta Compton is probably going to drop down to fifth place, its lowest position on the Top 10 chart since its release. Adding a possible $3.9 million this time around would bring its cumulative total to more than $155 million.
In sixth may be Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, which has the potential to bring in $3.8 million in its seventh week. With box office receipts of $2.8 million, No Escape would follow for number 7. It’s looking like The Transporter Refueled ($2.6 million), 90 Minutes In Heaven ($2.3 million), and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. ($1.7 million) would round out the Top 10. All figures are currently estimates, and Gossip Cop will have updates. TELL US: What are YOU seeing this weekend?
