When Fox's Emmy-nominated comedy returns for season 2, Phil (Will Forte) and Carol (Kristen Schaal) will relocate to the nation's capitol... as well as Carol's old hometown.

The Last Man on Earth is taking his self-appointed title of President of the United States literally in season two.

Fox's Emmy-nominated comedy just released the first official season two trailer, and the new footage shows Phil (Will Forte) and his ex-wife-turned-girlfriend Carol (Kristen Schaal) moving on up from Tucson to Washington, D.C. They've even set up their new home in the abandoned White House, leading to plenty of Phil's destructive shenanigans like playing hockey in the Oval Office.

Viewers will remember that at the end of season one, Phil was unceremoniously booted from his home in Tucson after admitting to almost leaving Todd (Mel Rodriguez) alone to die in the desert, and wanting to do the same to the new, hotter Phil Miller (Boris Kodjoe). Carol took pity on her ex-husband and left town with him, though their new destination was unclear. In addition to the White House, Carol will also bring Phil to her old home, revealing a lot about her hilariously kooky past along the way.

Season two is also set to introduce Phil's brother, played by Forte's former Saturday Night Live co-star Jason Sudeikis. It was revealed in the final moments of season one that he is an astronaut who was stranded up in space when the deadly virus wiped out most of the population.

"Jason Sudeikis will play a part in the upcoming season. Will he be in space? Maybe," Forte teased at Comic-Con. "[It] might be flashbacks."

The Last Man on Earth returns Sunday, Sept. 27 at 9:30 p.m. on Fox.
