Victoria and David Beckham’s marriage is not “just for show,” despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim, which began in one of the tabloids this week. We’re told nothing could be further from the truth.
According to a so-called “source” for OK!, “If it weren’t for their public image, they would have split years ago.” The tabloid’s grammatically challenged “source” alleges the “couple have been living separate lives for the past three years,” but have only stuck together to promote “brand Beckham.” What’s more, says the magazine, is that David has been eyeing a place in South Beach, where might co-own a new soccer team, while Victoria “insists on staying put in the U.K. because that’s where her family and friends are.”
Despite the tabloid’s headline of “trouble in paradise,” Gossip Cop is told the couple is fine, and their marriage is not a sham. A rep for the Beckhams calls the report “utter nonsense, as usual, from OK! magazine,” adding, “They take no notice of this kind of tabloid rubbish. The spokesperson assures Gossip Cop that the family “had a wonderful summer altogether in L.A., [and] they are a strong United family.”
Naturally, Gossip Cop is not too surprised by this latest misfire from the tabloid. We have busted OK! numerous times for its inaccurate reporting about the Beckhams, including similar marriage problems reports and a tall tale about Victoria designing Prince George’s wardrobe.
