'Sea of Dreams' actress Angelica Maria will also star in the half-hour satire series.
Three more faces are joining the ticket of Epix's new political satire series.
Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect), Veronica Mars alum Chris Lowell and Sea of Dreams actress Angelica Maria have joined Graves, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The single-camera, half-hour comedy stars Nick Nolte as a former President of the United States. Two decades after his term ends, he begins to think that his policies have damaged the country for decades, so he goes on a Don Quixote-like journey to fix things. Meanwhile, his wife (Susan Sarandon) decides then to pursue her own political ambitions.
Astin will play Isaiah Miller, a neurotic, overly eager assistant who goes to work for his political hero at the exact moment former President Graves is tearing apart his own legacy. Astin's credits also include Pitch Perfect 2 and Ground Floor. He is repped by UTA, Authentic Talent and Literary Management and Felker Toczek.
Lowell will portray the president's son, Jeremy, an underachiever who returns from the war in Afghanistan to decide his life's direction amid the everyday chaos of living with his family. Lowell is also known for his roles in The Help and Enlisted. He is repped by WME and Anonymous Content.
Maria has been cast as Ramona Alvarez, the wry housekeeper who has worked for the former president since before he was elected and, as a result, has grown comically desensitized to the daily dramas within the Graves household. Maria, whose other credits include Que Bonito Amor and The Book of Life, is repped by Crossover Entertainment LLC.
Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) created the project and will write, direct and executive produce the series, which hails from Lionsgate Television. Oscar-winning producer Greg Shapiro (The Hurt Locker), Keith Eisner (The Good Wife) and Eric Weinberg (Anger Management) will also exec produce. Epix has ordered a 10-episode season to debut in fall 2016.
Graves is one of Epix's first original series, the other being the spy drama Berlin Station starring Richard Jenkins. Epix is a joint venture between Viacom, Lionsgate, Paramount and MGM.
