President Obama is getting "Wild"!
The political leader posted an outdoor selfie with Bear Grylls to the White House Instagram feed on Wednesday, in honor of his appearance on the frontiersman's hit show "Running Wild With Bear Grylls."

"Glad this was the only Bear I met in the park," the president joked, captioning the shot of himself and the host smiling amid a scenic landscape.
Obama taped "Running Wild" as part of a three-day trek to Alaska, which marks the first time a sitting U.S. President has traveled north of the Arctic Circle. The trip is an effort to raise awareness about the negative effects of climate change in the area.
The White House shared another snap from the excursion early Wednesday, and showed off some of the picturesque wilderness Obama has encountered along the way.

"Resurrection Bay is one of those places that reminds you of all the beauty this country has to offer," the president wrote. "It's home to whales (I got to see one!), sea lions, and dozens of other species. Surrounded by jagged cliffs and alpine glaciers, this is a place that's worth protecting."
Fans of "Running Wild," however, are perhaps more interested in which survival tactics the president may have learned during his time with Bear. The host welcomes a different celebrity camping buddy to the show each week, and past guests have included Channing Tatum, Kate Winslet, Ed Helms, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Kate Hudson, among others.
His episode with Michelle Rodriguez infamously included a scene in which the "Furious 7" actress ate a mouse boiled in her own urine, a task Bear told fans Obama wasn’t likely to undertake.
"No it shouldn’t come to this," Bear Tweeted on Aug. 31, in response to an online petition asking the president to "do the right thing. … For science."
