‘Candyman’ star Tony Todd will join The CW series starting with episode two.
The Flash has cast season two’s big bad — with a catch.
Candymanstar Tony Todd has joined The Flash’s sophomore outing as the voice of nefarious DC Comics villain Zoom, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Zoom will first show up in episode two, “Flash of Two Worlds.”
But Todd won’t be playing the man behind the mask as Tom Cavanagh did in season one with the Reverse-Flash. Instead, The CW series will use Todd’s voice regardless of who ends up landing the major role later this season.
This isn’t Todd’s first DC Comics role. His previous voice work includes DC villain Darkseid in the Lego DC Comics Super Heroes video games, as well as Icon on Young Justice, and Asteroth on Batman: The Brave and the Bold. He also appeared on the long-running DC series Smallville as Earl Jenkins in season one.
In addition to Candyman, his other non-DC Comics roles include the Final Destination franchise, Platoon, 24, Chuck, The Young and the Restless andStargate SG-1.
Other new additions to The Flash season two include Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick/the original Flash, Insurgent star Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West, as well as Falk Hentschel as Hawkman and Casper Crump as the villain Vandal Savage, both of whom will first appear on crossover episodes of Arrow/The Flash before starring in the 2016 spinoff DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Todd is represented by Innovative Artists for voice over and is managed by Jeff Goldberg Management.
Season two of The Flash premieres Oct. 6 on The CW.
