Demi Lovato and Kathy Griffin’s years-long feud is heating up again after the comedienne slammed the singer’s “Cool For the Summer” performance at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards. See the stars’ Twitter exchange below.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, Griffin and Lovato first began battling in 2012 after the comic joked during an episode of her old Bravo talk show “Kathy” about the pop star cutting herself. Then, in March 2014, during a Twitter chat with fans, Griffin called Lovato the “biggest douche celebrity” she’s ever met.

Lovato’s fans subsequently took to Twitter to attack Griffin, some even going so far as to tweet death threats. Lovato actually later apologized to Griffin for her fans’ actions and condemned their violent words. During an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show” shortly after the incident, Griffin explained that she had “no problem” with Lovato, but was taken aback by her “vicious” fans.

After staying quiet for more than a year, Griffin and Lovato are back at it. The comedienne blasted the singer on Twitter on Sunday, accusing her of lip syncing during the VMAs. Griffin tweeted, “Demi’s live singing was very obviously live if you know I’m saying. And then the rest of the track or tracks. #atleastshesang-ish.”

Lovato shot back at Griffin, insinuating that the redheaded comic was obsessed with her. “Happy 2 see ur still stanning me @kathygriffin. Dont worry, my new album is out Oct 16. But u prob already knew that,” she wrote. Griffin responded by poking fun at Lovato’s use of slang, firing back, “I was STANDING next 2u when I received my #dosomething award.”
