Khloe Kardashian may have set off some legal fireworks, as a result of the 15 minutes of pyrotechnics they blasted last week off Marina Del Rey, California in celebration of her boyfriend James Harden’s 26th birthday. As Gossip Cop reported, Kardashian threw a yacht party for 200 people, including a slew of Kardashians, Jenners and basketball players, but neighbors like celebrities Josh Gad and Rebecca Black were furious about unannounced post-midnight fireworks. Now, 12 residents are reportedly going to sue Kardashian and her mom Kris Jenner in small claims court for emotional distress.
As Gossip Cop noted, many people in the area were awakened and frightened by the fireworks explosions. Josh Gad tweeted, “To whomever planned fireworks at midnight on a Tues thank u. Sincerely parents of 2 children who just woke up thinking we were being shelled.” And writer and actor Dan Ewen wrote, “I thought Russia was invading.”
The 12 residents, says TMZ, will seek the maximum allowed of $7,500 per person in small claims, arguing how they and their children were terrified and suffered emotional distress by the unannounced fireworks. And since there are no lawyers in small claims court, the plaintiffs will get to confront Kardashian and her mom directly for their actions. That actually seems to be their main motivation for filing the lawsuit against them.
Tell Gossip Cop, what do you think of the Marina Del Rey residents’ proposed lawsuit against Khloe Kardashian in small claims court.
