Michael Fassbender and his girlfriend Alicia Vikander are not “on the rocks” because of his alleged “nonstop partying,” despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the claim, which began in one of this week’s tabloids. We’re told the rumor of an impending split is 100 percent “inaccurate.”
According to Star, the couple’s relationship is in trouble. A so-called “insider” tells the tabloid, Fassbender and Vikander, who met and fell in love on the Australian set of their upcoming movie Light Between Oceans, are having problems because “Alicia knows Michael likes to have his fun, but she had no idea just how much.” The same alleged insider adds, “With Michael, life is basically a 24-hour free-for-all. He’s constantly boozing, smoking cigarettes, hopping from one party to the next. He’s says he’s just having fun, but Alicia’s getting bored with it.”
First off, bravo to Star for finding a source, who concisely said exactly what the tabloid had wanted, all while making sure to use their names “Michael” and “Alicia” when necessary and not saying “he” or “she” the way real humans do when they speak. Regardless, the page on which the story is written isn’t worth even lining a birdcage with.
Gossip Cop is assured by a source close to Vikander that the tabloid’s tale is “inaccurate.” We’re not surprise the magazine got this story wrong, too. In May, Star incorrectly claimed Fassbender was secretly dating Marion Cotillard. Apparently, it was so secret neither Cotillard nor Fassbender even knew about it.
On another note, Fassbender’s name became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter on Thursday when the first image of him from the highly-anticipated Assassin’s Creed movie was released. The actor, who signed on to the movie back in 2012, begins filming the adaptation of the popular video game franchise in September.
