Tom Hanks And Rita Wilson Son Chet Haze NOT “Missing,” Despite Report (Exclusive)

Tom Hanks Son Chet Haze Missing

(Star)

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson‘s son Chet Haze is NOT missing, despite a tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the report. Reps for Hanks tell us the claim is “totally and completely untrue.”

Hanks and Wilson’s 24-year-old son, a rapper who has openly struggled with addiction, posted on Instagram in late July that he wouldn’t be on social media “for a while,” as he was “gonna get my mind right.” But in a cover story published by Star this week, it’s alleged that Chet “disappeared” after posting his message, and that his parents have not heard from him in the last month. “There are legitimate fears for his well-being,” a so-called “source” claims to the outlet.

Hinting that Chet’s “disappearance” could be a “worst-case scenario,” Star and its supposed “source” go on to allege that Hanks and Wilson have hired private investigators to “track” down their son, because they “didn’t want to file an official missing persons report, the better to try and keep the development out of the press.” The magazine claims the investigation led to the “shocking discovery” that Chet’s cell phone last gave off a signal near Barstow, Calif., or what Star calls “one of the worst cities in the U.S. for the production and abuse of the dangerously addictive stimulant methamphetamine.”

It’s all very serious. But what’s far more serious is that Star published this report even though it is 100 percent false. Reps for Hank exclusively tells Gossip Cop the allegations about Chet going “missing” are both “absolutely not true” and “totally and completely untrue.” Whatever issues the family may or may not have with Chet, it’s extremely sad they also now had to deal with this shameful tabloid story.
