Foo Fighters Rickroll Westboro Baptist Church Outside of Concert: Watch Now!

The Westboro Baptist Church may “never give it up,” but on Friday, Aug. 21, the radical religious group got a taste of their own medicine when the Foo Fighters rickrolled them outside of the group’s Kansas City, Missouri concert venue.

Dave Grohl and company rode through the streets in the back of a black pickup truck holding up a sign that read “You Got Rick Roll’d (Again)!” as they passed a crowd of protestors holding up signs with offensive messages such as “God hates f—s” and “God bless dead soldiers.” They were blasting Rick Astley's hit "Never Gonna Give You Up."

Rickrolling began as an Internet meme, which entailed someone sending a link that seemed relevant to the topic being discussed but instead sent the viewer to singer Astley’s cheesy, addictive 1987 music video.

The prank evolved into simply disrupting situations with the song.

This isn’t the first time the Foo Fighters have responded to the Westboro Baptist Church’s protests. Back in August 2011, the group dressed up in trucker hats and cowboy boots, performing the song “Keep It Clean” on the bed of a flatbed truck in front of the protestors.
