Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s kids are “sad” about their parents splitting up, even though the two have done everything to make the situation as painless as possible, a source close to the stars tells Gossip Cop.
Affleck and Garner are parents to 8-year-old Violet, 5-year-old Seraphina, and 3-year-old Samuel. They kids are young, but “they get it,” says our insider, noting the daughers fully understand their parents are no longer together. That said, the stars have been making every effort to remain a family unit.
Over the weekend, Affleck and Garner spent his 43rd birthday on Saturday at Universal Orlando with the girls and Samuel, and then on Sunday at Disney World. But no matter how many rides they went on, and despite Affleck’s best intentions for a fun birthday weekend, we’re told the get-togethers were strained and the children know “their mommy and daddy are not going to live together anymore.” “It’s tough for the kids, it’s tough for [Affleck and Garner]. It’s just tough and sad for everyone.”
As Gossip Cop reported, in late June Garner and Affleck announced they were divorcing after 10 years of marriage. There were rumors about infidelity and Affleck cheating with their now-former nanny. But a rep for Affleck insisted to Gossip Cop that the stories tying the actor to Christine Ouzounian were “lies” and “made up.” We also separated fact from fiction regarding other rumors tied to Garner and Affleck.
Unfortunately, a trusted source tells Gossip Cop now that the couple’s children are aware of the divorce, and not surprisingly are “sad.” “It’s natural they feel this way,” but our insider adds Garner and Affleck are trying their “absolute best” to do what they can, despite the situation.
