Tracy Morgan will make his long-awaited comeback as one of the hosts of “SNL” when the show returns for season 41 this fall, it was announced on Monday.

As Gossip Cop has reported, Morgan has been sidelined since the fatal crash that left him severely injured in June 2014. He’s only recently returned to basic activities like driving, and now he’s given the first indication of how he plans to resume his career. Morgan will be at the helm of “SNL” on October 17.

The season will actually kick off two weeks prior with Miley Cyrus hosting on October 3, while Amy Schumer will take over on October 10. While this will be Schumer’s first time hosting, Cyrus has both hosted and performed before. She also participated in the “SNL 40″ anniversary special earlier this year.

As Gossip Cop reported at the time, Morgan was not at the star-studded event, but colleagues Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin gave him a poignant shout-out. Morgan first joined “SNL” in 1996, and remained with the show until 2003. He returned for one-off guest appearances in 2009, when he hosted, and 2011.

Additional hosts and musical guests for the upcoming episodes will be announced at a future date. TELL US: What do you think of Morgan making his big return via “SNL,” and Cyrus hosting the season premiere?
