Usher is not getting married to his business partner Grace Miguel on Saturday, despite a new webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the claim. We’re told it is “not true.”
According to MediaTakeOut, Usher is “having a secret wedding tomorrow in Savannah, Georgia.” The webloid, which has no other details or concrete proof, adds, “Grace and her entire family are in Savannah, Georgia today preparing for her wedding. She and Usher are jumping the broom tomorrow in a secret ceremony in Savannah.”
Apparently, Usher’s wedding is SO secret, not even he knows about it. A rep for the singer exclusively tells Gossip Cop that the MediaFakeOut report is “absolutely not true.”
Of course, Gossip Cop is hardly surprised that the site’s report is inaccurate. One of the first stories we debunked when we started back in 2009 was an MTO report that claimed Usher “converted to Judaism.” That story was meshugenah and wrong.
Additionally, the webloid has a history of falsely announcing imminent weddings that ultimately don’t take place. On December 31, 2009, the site claimed Diddy was getting married to Kim Porter in a “secret wedding… at midnight tonight.” That also never happened.
Gossip Cop looks forward to seeing how MTO explains away on Saturday or even Sunday why Usher didn’t get married.
