Lucy Hale: I’m NOT Quitting “Pretty Little Liars,” Despite Rumors

Lucy Hale Quitting Pretty Little Liars

Lucy Hale says she’s NOT quitting “Pretty Little Liars,” despite rumors. The star took to Twitter on Friday morning to clear the air.

The confusion seems to stem from a quote featured in Hale’s recent V magazine story. The outlet quoted her as saying, “I’ll be done next October with [‘Pretty Little Liars’] forever, which is exciting, but also scary at the same time, because it’s the next chapter of my life and so I’m really looking forward to exploring different and darker roles.”

But the quote is presented completely without context, and a number of outlets picked it up without bothering to note a few important points. Hale is expecting to be done with “Pretty Little Liars” in October of next year, because the show is only currently contracted for seven seasons. Based on the production timeline, and with the cast currently shooting the second half of season 6, she’d be filming the second half of season seven come fall 2016.

Should the series continue for an eighth season, ALL the main stars would have to consider their future with show. But while the cast and creator I. Marlene King have not ruled things out either way, it’s all just speculation right now, and Hale was just talking about where things OFFICIALLY stand. She made as much clear in her tweet.

“Just to clarify … I am not leaving PLL!! All these rumors. I’m with the show until the 7th and last season,” wrote Hale, including a heart emoji. Believe her, not quotes that are being spread without any insight. As Gossip Cop reported, Tuesday’s summer finale ended with Hale’s Aria heading off to college, before a five-year time-jump leads her back to Rosewood. Fans should rest easy knowing there’s plenty more Aria to come in 2016 and beyond.
