GG here! Actress Greta Gerwig revealed during an interview with HuffPost Live on Tuesday, Aug. 11, that she once auditioned for a role on the CW's wildly popular series Gossip Girl.

"I have had moments when I was starting out when I was auditioning for things like Gossip Girl," the indie actress, 32, said in her chat. "And they would look at me like, 'Why are you wearing overalls to this audition?' And I'd be like, 'They said she was from a farm!' and they would be like, 'Well, this is Gossip Girl.'"

The character Gerwig was referring to was Eva Coupeau, Chuck Bass' girlfriend, in Season 4 of the series. Ultimately, the role of Eva — who yes, grew up on a goat farm — went to French actress Clemence Posey.
The Frances Ha star — whose new role on Mistress America continues to generate buzz — told the site that she wanted to join the gorgeous, glitzy cast of Gossip Girl (including the likes of Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, and more).
"There were moments like that, where I didn't fit what they wanted," Gerwig dished. "But I always wanted to be part of them. I wish they had wanted me."

However, her takeaway was to remain original to herself. "I've done my fair share of looking the way people want me to look. I feel like that never really works for me," she reflected. "I think had I been more successful by changing myself... but luckily, I had no choice but to be authentic."
