"I look like Humphrey Bogart," the 'House of Cards' star said as he watched his audition clip from 1979.

Before taking on the role of Frank Underwood on House of Cards, Kevin Spacey had his sights set on making it as a teen idol.

While visiting Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night, Spacey's past caught up with him when host Jimmy Kimmel surprised the actor with footage from his 1979 audition for Tiger Beat magazine. A young Spacey, dressed in a trench coat and fedora, could be seen in attendance at a teen-idol casting call for aspiring actors. "I look like Humphrey Bogart," Spacey said as he watched the clip. "Little do they know they could have had an exclusive way back then. Boy, oh boy."

Joked Kimmel: "You're saying that's not what the teens were eating up in 1979?"

Spacey revealed that, following his high-school graduation, he auditioned for both the teen magazine and The Gong Show (both of which rejected him) and highlighted his Johnny Carson impersonation as his special skill.
