20th Century Fox Television has locked up prolific producer Danielle Sanchez-Witzel.
Sanchez-Witzel has signed a two-year overall deal with the studio and boarded NBC's The Carmichael Show as showrunner, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Sanchez-Witzel most recently was a co-EP on Fox's New Girl and, before that, worked on CBS' The Millers and developed under an overall deal with CBS Television Studios. The deal to showrun Jerrod Carmichael's summer comedy series brings Sanchez-Witzel back to NBC where she had been under successive overalls for six seasons and worked as a co-EP/consultant on Whitney, Love Bites, 100 Questions and My Name Is Earl. Her credits also include NBC's Happy Family and In-Laws as well as ABC's The George Lopez Show. She's repped by UTA and Jackoway Tyerman.
The Carmichael Show — based on comedian Carmichael's life — was fast-tracked to pilot and picked up to series when it was redeveloped after narrowly missing the cut last season. The 20th Century Fox Television series, also starring David Alan Grier and Loretta Devine, premieres Aug. 5 at 9:30 p.m. on NBC.
