Rematch! After an on-air spat between American Idol finalist Quentin Alexander and judge Harry Connick, Jr. during the show's top 7 American Classics night, the show's promo department is making sure we remember to tune in to the top 6 performance show for more drama.
Us Weekly has the exclusive debut of a new commercial set to air on Fox during a brand new episode of Gotham on Monday, April 20, and the spot is not shying away from the controversy.
American Idol's latest promo highlights the Harry Connick Jr. and Quentin Alexander confrontation from top 7 night.
After the bottom two singers were revealed during the Wednesday, April 15 episode of the reality competition, the New Orleans-based singer, 22, expressed his disappointment that friends Joey Cook and Rayvon Owen were in danger of going home. "This sucks," he exclaimed to host Ryan Seacrest. "This whole thing is wack."
Connick, Jr. didn't appreciate Alexander's outburst, and shot back, "If it's that wack, you can always go home."
The confrontation is rehashed in the 20-second promo, and an Idol source confirmed to Us Weekly that it'll be replayed on the beginning of Wednesday's show as a part of the segment recapping the events of the previous week.

Alexander and Connick, Jr. haven't had contact since the end of the live show -- there is a strict wall of silence between the judges and the contestants for fairness purposes, and they only interact onstage. Ultimately, it's up to the men to decide whether or not they will address the kerfuffle on-air Wednesday night, the source added.
American Idol airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
