Jessica Simpson is not close to a breakdown, despite a new National Enquirer report claiming the entrepreneur is fighting with husband Eric Johnson, descending into alcohol and drug use, and generally coming apart at the seams. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the story.
According to the outlet, Simpson’s “out-of-control behavior is destroying her marriage, tearing her family apart and even endangering her children!” The Enquirer describes Simpson’s circumstances as a “house of horrors.” A so-called “insider” tells the magazine, “Jessica’s life has turned into an awful mess. She’s wrecking everything in her path!”
Wow. What’s allegedly going on? Well, the Enquirer says her marriage to Johnson “is unraveling amid physical fights and wild mood swings,” and claims Simpson is also feuding with her dad Joe and her sister Ashlee. As one phony tabloid insider puts it, “Physically, Jess is struggling and close to having a full-on breakdown!”
The Enquirer alleges Simpson and Johnson’s children have been “acting out” amid the supposed chaos, that Simpson’s “obsession with losing weight” using prescription pills has her “heading for an overdose,” and that she’s prone to unpredictable, scary mood swings because of drugs and alcohol. The magazine goes on to claim that she’s also furious about Joe’s split from her mom and sniping at Ashlee over her marriage to Evan Ross.
“Jess is alienating everyone close to her. She’s on a downward spiral, and those close to Jess can see that, behind closed doors, her life is an absolute nightmare,” says the Enquirer insider. In other words, an outlet that has spent years trashing Simpson and her family, consistently getting stories about her wrong, has decided to throw a half-dozen rumors at the wall to see what sticks.
Simpson is NOT having a breakdown. She’s NOT at war with her family. She’s NOT in the midst of serious substance abuse. Her behavior is NOT “out of control.” And if the Enquirer had an actual Simpson sources, the magazine would know that. A source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “This story is 100 percent false and insulting.”
