Jeremy Renner is opening up about his greatest role to date: fatherhood. The actor appeared on Wednesday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” where he talked about his two-year-old daughter Ava. Watch the video below!
Even though the legal situation with his estranged wife Sonni Pacheco is ugly, Renner told DeGeneres that being a dad is “the greatest thing in the world.” “I mean, it really kind of changed my perspective on a lot of things,” said Renner, adding that Ava is now “talking a lot.” The star joked to the host that fatherhood “kind of screwed my career in a lot of ways.”
“I don’t really care about it so much ’cause I care about her so much,” explained Renner, noting, “She’s like number one in my life. And now I get to do movies on the side. Daddy’s my best role to date, I think.”
The Avengers: Age of Ultron star revealed that the one drawback is his constant traveling for work. “I do a lot of flights back [when I’m working],” said Renner, adding, “I did like 40 flights back from London to here pretty much every two weeks to see her, sometimes for eight hours and then fly back.”
As Gossip Cop previously reported, Renner and Pacheco went through a bitter split and custody battle over their daughter. Pacheco accused Renner of having an unstable home environment and therefore wanted full custody of Ava. Renner fired back alleging that Pacheco would often choose drugs and alcohol over their daughter. Earlier this month a settlement was reached giving both Renner and Pacheco joint custody of the baby.
