Sawyer Fredericks’ performance of “Imagine,” one of the most iconic songs of all time, proved he’s “one in a million” on “The Voice” on Monday. Check out the video below!

The episode marked the first installment of season 8’s regular competition, where the contestants’ future in the competition is solely up to the viewers. The Top 12 all had to perform live, and Fredericks, who wowed guest advisor Reba McEntire in rehearsals, once again showed why he’s so beloved by the audience and coaches alike. In fact, when Fredericks had the slightest of vocal mishaps, missing a falsetto note and instead turning it into a hum, it just made the panel love him even more.

Adam Levine was the most effusive, telling the teen, “There’s nothing I can say technically about your voice. The way that this 16-year-old dude sings is almost just unbelievable, because the way that he fills the room with his voice, to me, that’s one in a million. Your ability to do that transcends any coaching. You just have that natural thing.”

Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera both commented on the aforementioned note change, with Aguilera saying how he handled it showed how talented he is. “You don’t try, and you just project, and it just works, and that’s a really natural [thing] that you just have,” she told Fredericks. And Shelton said, “You make everything you do seem right… I don’t know man. You’re a champ, dude.”

And Pharrell, the singer’s coach, even admitted he was “relieved” to see Fredericks have that split-second of wavering so everyone could see how well he bounces back. Check out the video below!
