The members of Fifth Harmony know what it’s like to rocket to fame as part of a group, so HuffPost Live was curious to hear what the performers thought about the earth-shaking recent departure of Zayn Malik from One Direction. Watch the video below.
“[Our] only opinion is that we respect him and his decision to [quit],” said Lauren Jauregui. Her group mate Camila Cabello added, “Yeah, I mean I think that One Direction was such a, I mean is, such an important part of some people’s lives, and I think it was just a dream for a lot of people. I was a huge One Direction fan, I think we all are, so I think it made people sad, but at the same time happiness and health [are] the most important thing. At the end of the day, he’s a person, and he’s a human being, and he needs to take care of himself.”
Interestingly, Cabello herself was recently the subject of unfounded band breakup rumors, when backed-up garbage disposal HollywoodLife floated a bogus story about Taylor Swift allegedly telling her to leave Fifth Harmony.
