Chris Jamison returned to “The Voice” on Wednesday’s special episode for a moving performance of “See You Again” with Wiz Khalifa. Watch below!

“See You Again” was created by Khalifa and singer-songwriter Charlie Puth for Furious 7 as a tribute to the late Paul Walker. The emotional track was partnered with a music video that features clips of Walker from the franchise, along with the current movie’s poignant ending scene. It also is used to close the film itself.

“Once it was clear that that’s the [film’s] structure — the cast saying goodbye to Paul’s character — we put it out to writers that the song had to be earnest and celebratory. We knew we didn’t want people leaving the theater sad,” Universal’s president of music, Mike Knobloch, told Billboard. And while the song was actually finished some time ago, it was only released just recently. Atlantic Records’ president of film and television, Kevin Weaver, explained to the outlet, “We purposely held back on the song to be respectful of the fans’ experience and the Paul Walker family and camp. A lot of thought was put into allowing fans to experience the goodbye to Paul in the picture.”

And the decision to feature the track on “The Voice” was set two months ago. Puth, however, did not appear with Khalifa for the performance, and Jamison instead handled the singing verses. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, the singer came in third on “The Voice” during season 7 last December. He briefly reunited with former coach Adam Levine on Tuesday’s episode, teasing the special duet with Khalifa. Check out the video below!
