NBC could soon have three series in Dick Wolf's Chicago Fire universe. After a steady episode of The Voice, Chicago Fire planted the seeds for a potential Chicago Med spinoff — and saw its ratings rise in the process. The series was up four-tenths of a point from its last original episode, averaging a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49.

The only scripted series to perform better on Tuesday night was CBS' NCIS, steady with a 2.1 rating in the key demo. Subsequent episodes of NCIS: New Orleans (1.6 adults) and Person of Interest (1.3 adults) each fell two-tenths of a point.

ABC's duo of Fresh Off the Boat (1.4 adults), Agents of SHIELD (1.5 adults) were also steady, though Forever (0.9 adults) dropped two-tenths of a point.

Hell's Kitchen (1.2 adults), New Girl (0.9 adults) and Weird Loners (0.7 adults) all held on Fox — as did iZombie (0.7 adults) on the CW.TV Ratings
