Are they getting fries with that? Burger King is footing the bill for one lucky couple, The State Journal-Register's Springdale, Ill., newspaper reports. Is it because they are loyal customers? Won a contest? Nope, the fast-food chain is pitching in because the groom's last name is Burger and the bride's last name is King.
Jacksonville, Fla., residents Joel Burger and Ashley King met in kindergarten, and were given the nickname "Burger King" (because, duh!) by a motivational speaker in fifth grade. Burger King employees spotted the hilarious coincidence in the couple's newspaper wedding announcement. In their engagement photo, they even posed next to a Burger King logo sign.
"Mr. Burger and Ms. King? Is this real life?" the company tweeted on April 5. "Please help us find this amazing couple. #BurgerKingWedding." When King replied, the handle quipped back: "If it isn't Mrs Burger-King to be. Send us a DM, we have something special for you."

And that she did! On Wednesday, April 8, Burger King posted a Youtube chat they had with the future spouses. A spokesperson first teased that personalized yo-yos and koozies would be made, before really revealing the special surprise.

"We have one more custom idea we would like to show you," the spokesperson said. In a note, she wrote: "Burger King wants to help give you a whopper of a wedding. In other words: It's on us. The wedding that is…"
