Parallel Entertainment and production company YayBig have partnered with the TV festival for the contest.
Denver-based television festival SeriesFest is gearing up for its four-day event in June.
Parallel Entertainment and production company, YayBig, have partnered with the festival to hold a comedy script competition called the Storytellers Initiative. Finalists will take part in a two-day lab and vie for a chance to win a development deal and the opportunity for a professionally produced pilot-presentation valued at $60,000.
“We are honored to partner with Parallel Entertainment and YayBig to foster the careers of emerging comedy writers and provide a genuine connection with industry leaders and mentors," said SeriesFest CEO Randi Kleiner. "The finalists will receive exclusive access, creative feedback, and advice to help navigate the evolving industry."
Semi-finalists will be announced on the festival's website on May 20, while finalists will be announced June 1 and will be flown out to the festival (with airfare, hotel and VIP badge included) where they will participate in a two-day Storytellers lab that includes creative workshops with industry professionals and a reading of their pilot by professional actors in front of a live audience. Winner(s) will be announced on the final day of the festival.

To be eligible for the contest, entrants must be aged 18 years or older. Entry materials for the Storytellers Initiative include pilot scripts for half-hour comedy that are no more than 40 pages, series regular and recurring character descriptions that do not exceed two pages and a $20 submission fee. Each entry must include only one script, and they must be written in English.
