Jada Pinkett Smith is NOT “desperate to save her marriage” to Will Smith, despite a new OK! magazine report claiming the actress gave up her hit show “Gotham” because of a marital crisis. Gossip Cop can debunk the story.

According to the outlet, Jada’s “secret reason” for exiting the hit Fox series is “to focus on her relationship with Will Smith.” A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “Jada enjoyed her time on the show, but she and Will have issues. She can’t afford to be on set right now.” OK! points out that “divorce rumors have dogged the couple” recently, “fueled by reports that [Will] got too cozy with his Focus co-star Margot Robbie.”

OK! fails to mention that every single one of those “recent” rumors about Robbie was based on a discredited 2013 tabloid report wrongly linking the stars. Or that OK! itself spread the baseless rumor last month. The outlet just wants to link “Gotham” to non-existent marriage concerns. “Jada ha shown Will that she’s willing to make hard choices to do what’s best for their marriage,” explains one of the tabloid’s sources.

For years, there have been stories like this one, insisting the Smiths are on the brink of disaster. And for years, those stories have been proven wrong. It’s the same here. A rep tells Gossip Cop it’s “absolutely not true” her marriage had anything to do with Jada deciding to leave “Gotham.”
