David Duchovny is offering a few teases about his return to The X-Files.
The Fox show is coming back as a six-part limited series, and the actor known for playing FBI Agent Fox Mulder recently spoke to The New York Times about the upcoming revival.
He said true to The X-Files' history, the limited series will likely be a mix of serialized storytelling and monster of the week episodes. He also said he thinks and costar Gillian Anderson (Dana Skully) have become more capable actors over the years, which is something they will have to figure out how to incorporate into the new episodes.

"If I were to look back at the first or second year of the show, I wouldn’t try to act like that guy," said Duchovny. "I’m capable of doing more. She’s capable of doing more. It’ll be interesting to see how we keep the characters the same but also the actors are better."
He also tackled the notion of how friendly the show might be to newcomers to the property, saying that as something they worked on back during the show's original run.
"They were always kind of juggling about what people needed to know, especially when we made the movies. Can we get somebody in who’s never seen this? And I’m sure we’ll have to juggle that again with this iteration of it."
The X-Files ran for nine seasons on Fox, beginning in 1993, and spawned two feature films.
