Jessie J does not have to lip-sync her live shows due to a heart condition, despite a new rumor. The 26-year-old singer took to Instagram to slam the report, writing that she doesn’t have to “mime to hit my high notes on stage.”
Earlier this week, The Mirror reported that Jessie J suffers from Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a condition that causes an irregular heart beat, shortness of breath, and dizziness. The outlet claimed that because of her heart ailment, Jessie J was advised by a doctor to stop singing live during shows because it was straining her ticker. The paper’s website even quoted the singer as saying, “I have prided myself in having got this far without having to lip-sync but if my career carries on moving at the pace that it is, I will have to lip-sync to be able to stay well.”
On Friday, however, Jessie J denied that she’ll have to “mime” performances because of her health. “I am ok. I’m feeling better. I was really unwell. I have slept a lot,” she wrote on Instagram, adding, “I still have a heart problem. Papers acting like I didn’t know lol. Had it since I was born.” “My heart is ok,” the singer continued, assuring fans, “My body is healing. I don’t have to mime to hit my high notes on stage.” What do you think of Jessie J’s comments?
